T&T Get's It's Very Own Wen'D- Down To Earth & Culture Driven

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. October 27, 2011-------------T&T’s getting its very own
‘Wen’D’- a fearless, energetic talk show host who promises to take local culture and arts to its pinnacle of success. Starting on November 5, Wendy Lewis will take over Saturday nights with her brand new one-on-one programme she’s dubbed, “Down To Earth With Wen’D.” Set to air on CNC3 in Trinidad and Tobago, the premise of the half hour long show is centred on straight talk in real life situations with icons and persons of prominence in local society. “ This won’t
be the regular run of the mill culture show, I assure,” said Wen’D, expressing her determination to make the first 13 episodes, which will run into Carnival Saturday- a riveting, eye opening television experience.

With sponsors that include Courts, designers- Heather Jones, Claudia Pegus, Dexter Jennings
and Andrew Weekes, Sasha Cosmetics, Creation Designs, the NLCB, American Airlines,
Statement Limos and CNC3, the show is being promoted with the highest of confidence.
“Interviews with artistes, carnival stakeholders, radio personalities and certainly after carnival-
politicians, entrepreneurs and religious figures will take shape based on issues of current appeal
but with a very laid back, comfortable effect. We’re making this an off- set, real view of
society’s prominent figures with somewhat of an international flair, something that has never
quite been done to the standard at which we’re aiming,” said Lewis.
Each episode will be filmed by 2 Tones Productions at locations frequented by her guests – whether it be at their homes, gyms, offices or even at the corner hot spot where the vibe is right. Whichever way, Wen’D promises she’ll be there to get the news, views and even the sudden outbursts of those
who’re often considered to be role models in Trinidad and Tobago.

With a launch date set for November 4,
plans for a hit series are well underway. It’s title,
“Down To Earth With Wen’D” epitomises the realistic approach the show’s
producers are guaranteeing. Following the 13 episodes being filmed during the Christmas and upcoming Carnival 2012 seasons,
Lewis assured that planning has already begun for guests outside of these culturally festive periods. “ No one will be left out. We’re touching everyone of prominence with an eye towards getting the ‘real’ feelings, emotions and characters of these people. Too often we see persons of prominence on television or on stages and we’re left bewildered by their larger than life personas. It’s time we got down to the nitty gritty. It’s time we made these people tangible- relatable,” she emphasised.

The show will air on Saturdays at 8pm with a repeat each Tuesday at 5pm on CNC3.
According to Lewis, the concept was considered upon recognising that there was a lack of
televised local content in a well- packaged, internationally produced format. “ Our icons are
dying and we’re being left without an account of their history. We need to fix that and it starts
with Down To Earth With Wen’D,” said Lewis.

In previous years, the event demonstrated how closely intertwined entertainment and culinary
art are. Music, dance and other special showcases of Trinidad and Tobago’s multi-ethnic
society add to the flavour enjoyed by the crowds who attend each year. In 2011, Cloud 9- the
organizing entity responsible for this grand food and entertainment gala, promises that patrons
will not be disappointed.  In fact, they’re guaranteeing that this year will mark the event’s
biggest showing ever.

With planning underway, a lot is being done behind the scenes in preparation for September
25 including the hiring of one of T&T’s biggest soca artistes. Whether patrons choose to guess
who that star will be is up to them at this time, but one thing’s for sure according to Sauté
organizers, and that’s the fact that Sauté Trinbago 2011 will be a must attend calendar event
for all who understand the power of presence.

Therapy Launches Car Show....

It’s time to ‘love up we culture.’

Youths in T&T and across the Caribbean are chanting to the beat of their respective nationalities more these days and this is due in part to the great music being unleashed to the masses from all islands. Not only has Jamaica penetrated the minds of Caribbean people but so has St. Vincent, Barbados and now, with the emergence of some very talented youths, Trinidad and Tobago is proving a force, too.

From the belly of the island’s central criminal point, Morvant Laventille- comes a young man who’s bent on eliminating negativity from his language, his way of life and that of his peers. Fresh and ready to take on anything, Therapy, real name- Hayden Peters, is this week unveiling another pivotal track that’ll soon prove essential to his overall elevation.

From the heat of the 2010 Carnival season in Trinidad and Tobago where he released, “Stand Up,” an outcry for the youths to take their lives in a different direction, he’s now relaxing a bit, in a bid to teach the youths and the older heads too, just how much positively engaging fun can be experienced in life.

“ Car Show,” his latest contribution to T&T’s local crossover genre is not only catchy, but the track, which was produced by Klase Gonzales of First Klase Production Studio in T&T, is easy on the ear, relatable and as mentioned above, creates an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment. Already, Therapy has aligned himself with a local car-show promoter to ensure his song penetrates the masses at the namesake event.

With the help of his management team and local publicity firm, ET-CET-ERA The Company, the artiste is bent on taking his music beyond radio stations, but also into regional venues and certainly the advertising market. Coupled with his strong intent and the support of the promotional entity who will on Saturday, May 1st and Saturday May 8th, host Cars Reloaded in St. Helena, Trinidad and Extreme Machines in Malabar, respectively, the journey to great musical accomplishment is certainly underway.

Thankful for the support of the DJ’s and mic men who’ve held fast to the promotion of T&T’s music, Therapy says, “ music is in me, in my soul… I can provide it, I just need the masses to hear it and the sky’s going to be the limit!”

I Am Legend Promotes Love This Easter Weekend‏ in Trinidad

Each year one promotional outfit gives the people of Trinidad and Tobago an experience that far surpasses any other during the year. Following the Carnival season in T&T, Home Grown Entertainment structures a concert affair that for two years, has stood securely, branding itself as the ultimate cultural showcase, following the period of Lent.
I Am Legend- the brand, has grown in strength and purpose in the past two years, having hosted Beres Hammond and Buju Banton consecutively and Shabba Ranks and Wayne Wonder in 2009. In this, its third year, the show promises to be a heavenly experience of love, peace and serenity but more than that, organisers are guaranteeing utter enjoyment for every man and woman- from every walk of life.
Caribbean entertainers Morgan Heritage, Shaggy and Beres Hammond will grace the Queen’s Park Savannah stage in Trinidad on Saturday, April 3, before heading over to sister isle Tobago on April 4, in what is being dubbed the Easter weekend experience no one should miss. Already, the buzz surrounding the event is strong and for that reason, Home Grown Entertainment is expecting an outpouring of support from the people of T&T who endorse love, life and sweet enjoyment.
On www.facebook.com, a group- I Am Legend 3, promotes the event with information, videos and opportunities to win promotional items and tickets for either of the concerts during the Easter weekend. The artistes themselves are excited about the trilogy, with each one understanding the purpose behind the I Am Legend performance in Trinidad and Tobago. Organisers, Glenroy Watson and Joel Morris, in a rare moment explained, “ I Am Legend is more than just a concert. It’s a vibration of positive energy we hope can bring peace and love to the people of T&T.”
With planning and preparation is high gear, I Am Legend 3 looks to set the pace for all culturally engaging experiences to be held during the second half of 2010.

The Carnival is over...2010 NEXT!!!

Well, I honestly had a ball!!!

Carnival 2009 was amazing here in Trinidad and Tobago and as always, in promotion of the island, I have to say that every human being that is a member of this planet earth should experience the two day street parade, in full costume, at least once in their lifetime.

Despite the world's economic downturn, the turnout for the festival was incredible and added to this, the crime was almost non existent as the police here in Trinidad, did an amazing job at ensuring that the festivities went ahead unhindered by any negative eventualities.

Here's to NEXT YEAR'S CARNIVAL IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO... Come to our island, enjoy the mas, safely make your way through the streets and terrains, have a doubles, a bake and shark at Maracas bay and by all means, wine LOW!!!
