Arima Borough Day To Be "WETA" In 2011

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. July 15, 2011---------- There's a buzz around the borough of Arima and environs. Not only is the ground talking about their traditional Borough Day celebrations but once again, with higher expectations, the ground is chatting about, and busily planning for an event carded for August 6 at the Arima Velodrome. 


Trinidad and Tobago's leading urban frequency, Boomchampions 94.1FM has revealed plans to host the second edition of their "WET" fete, this year calling is "WETA"- an acronym for Water Is Everything Again. Last year, thousands gathered at Mario's car park in Arima, anxious to get a glimpse of their favourite radio personalities and local stars- among them Marlon Asher and the High Grade Family, Denise Belfon, The Millionaire Family, Squeezy Rankin, Lawless, Terri Lyons and many others. This year, the cast of entertainers billed to perform at the newly acquired venue, is familiar but added to that will be two of Jamaica's leading female acts, Lady Saw and Pampute. 


Organisers of the Trini "summer" event are saying this one's going to be huge, with 200,000 gallons of water being brought into the Arima stadium to ensure the theme is constant throughout the night! Tickets for WETA went on sale from July 15 at the cost of $100 for a limited time. Persons wishing to get the earlybird tickets were being encouraged to contact 223- BOOM for details.
