The regional integration that’s made possible through the Greatest Show on Earth, has begun.
Lunni Spark & Electrify, the sensational Grenadian duo who in 2007 and 2008 took home Grenada’s Soca Monarch title, spent both Thursday and Friday in Trinidad and Tobago, releasing new music and starting the buzz for 2010.
The pair has teamed up with Mr. Spine’s HolyHouse Production and The Millionaire Family who’ve already produced a number of hits ahead of the season. Together, they've unleashed four tracks for the masses. “ Ah Wining,” "Wine It,” “Eruption,” and “ Doh Call It,” debuted in T&T, in a pre-carnival buzz that’s already taking over the Christmas season. The Grenadian boys’ stint in Trinidad saw them stop by most media houses, including Synergy TV and many of the popular radio stations.
Self proclaimed,‘ Energy Kings of Soca,’ Luni Sparks & Electrify have started their 2010 soca campaign strong, riding high on the wave of success at the 2009 International Soca Awards. Although the event in itself was cancelled, Caribbean received their merit for the hard work put in, in 2009. In a release, the awards committee presented the pair with awards in the categories of, Best Soca Collaboration Up-Tempo and Best Soca Duo.
Their stay in T&T, though brief – was meant to keep the momentum high heading into the New Year. In the weeks ahead, there’s no doubt that the youthfully vibrant pair will be back to stomp their names all over Carnival island.
