IRON, RIDDIM.... VIBES!!! Shurwayne Drops, " Nobody Badda Dan We"!!!

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. December 8th, 2011--------His ability to make it sound loud, distinct and fit for the road is unbelievable. One music lover on social networking site, Facebook wrote, "But like Shurwayne went away and come back 'awa'... how he music kickin brass so??? #besstune."
It was her immediate comment after Winchester's brand new single, Shorty/ Nobody Badda Dan We, dropped on radio stations on Thursday morning.

Shurwayne's creativity is proving to be stronger than many may have believed in years gone by. Ahead of 2012, he's pushing hard to not just deliver music for the road march or the other competitions. In fact, he's not even talking competition... he's talking entertainment, fun, enjoyment and delivering only the best!

The new track was written by the artiste himself and produced at Platta Studios in Barbados. He said it's his release in the prelude to his power releases and for now, fans and music lovers can sit pretty, knowing that he's given them some of the biggest soca anthems for 2012 so far and there will be others.

In the meantime, his team is working on the completion of two videos for Wining Addiction and Work It. Following the Christmas season, Shurwayne Winchester is guaranteed to be a force to be reckoned and what's amazing is that his momentum hasn't even peaked just yet....

Shurwayne Winchester Shuts Down Millennium Highway- Set To Release 5th C2K12 Single

Soca artiste, Shurwayne Winchester

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. December 2, 2011--------Dyamic. Versatile. Energetic.
Those were the words that best described Shurwayne Winchester’s most recent performances.
On the heels of cable network, Flow’s Christmas party on Saturday, November 26th, Shurwayne
rolled solo at Woodford Café where he dished out much more than many would’ve expected. Excited for Christmas and the subsequent carnival season ahead, Shurwayne says he’s pulling out the stops and going hard into both seasons as he has nothing to lose.

“I’m an entertainer,” said the notably relaxed soca superstar last week Saturday night. He had
been explaining why his repertoire consists of such varying musical items, to an audience that simply wanted more. The event, which took place at the Hyatt Hotel was merely one of a number of Christmas functions Shurwayne and his band of three years, Y.O.U. have been contracted to perform at. He’s a favourite when it comes to events of this nature and that undoubtedly stems from his ability to vocally enforce any genre of music- from hip-hop to dancehall, reggae and of course calypso and soca. His first ever soca parang single, “When
Christmas Come Around” was a hit at both Flow’s Christmas Party and Woodford Café last week, however it was at Hyatt where he utilized the comical appeal of television personality, Philo, that fans of the artiste truly got a true taste of what he can bring, when he truly decides to go hard.

On both nights, audience members shouted flatteries, screamed with joy and called for more,
and that in itself was all that was needed for more to be delivered by the former double Road
March champ. From Work It to Wine On It, Jiggle It Reloaded and Wining Addict- his music
ahead of Carnival 2012 continues to be enjoyed by fans and soca lovers. Shurwayne says he
plans on releasing a power single next but hasn’t dished on whether that would be before or
after the Christmas season. Most recently, he was in St. Lucia shooting the video for Work It where
he reportedly shut down the entire Millennium Highway for three hours to shoot the scenes.
It’s just what happens when he’s bent on getting things right. In 2012, Shurwayne is promising
plenty vibes, plenty fun and a lot of great music for revelers to enjoy.

Trinidad and Tobago's Syr Promises To Turn Things Up....

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. October 31, 2011------------- He promises to stand out. He’s fresh and hungry to penetrate the Soca scene and at age 26, Syr (pronounced SY-ER) is prepared to give the feting public and even those who just like to chill out amid the hype, something to talk about. So confident is this San Juan, Trinidad native that he’s making it known off the bat that this is no hobby- it’s his career and as such, he’s not messing around.

A first taste of what Syr’s got was unleashed on Friday, October 28th. It's a single straight out of Holy House Productions and rides the Body Riddim of which well known local producer, Mr. Spine is owed credit. The track, which is called, Pon D Body is all about a young woman’s anticipation for the Carnival season, her eagerness to let loose and enjoy the local festival. Syr, whose real name is Wackele Williams explained that the track is all soca but boasts some dance and dancehall flavour.

With a keen ability to work with various musical genres, including reggae and dancehall, Syr who only started recording last year, says his first goal is to get the support of the radio stations. “ I need to get my music played, so it can be heard by the masses. This is no hobby- it’s what I do and I plan on doing it well enough, so that everyone appreciates it,” he said.  Looking toward the future, Syr admits that his focus is long term, so at the moment he’s
working on music that will be released outside local shores in January and in T&T even after
the C2K12 season has passed.

On the topic of artistes that he enjoys, names like Bunji Garlin and the Millionaire Family pop
up. “ I really like the Millionaire Family- there’s no surprise there. Syr admits that he is fond of
quite a few entertainers on the local circuit, among them Benjai, 3 Suns and FayAnn Lyons. He
didn’t shy away however from voicing his opinion on the Caribbean’s music industry, saying
that as a burgeoning artiste he feels there is room growth and improvement. “ There are so
many genres of music in the Caribbean and then so many sub-genres like Island Pop coming
out of Soca. It’ll be interesting to see how we utilise all of this musical greatness to show up
ourselves as one Caribbean people,” he said.

As it relates to his career, Syr is preparing to do things a little different because as he
explained- “in this biz, it’s all about who makes the strongest impact, regardless of genre,
island or style.”
Already, he’s doing it the right way, with professional standards being set as it relates to
business and image. Syr’s teamed up with popular urban fashion centre, Phat’s International
for all his wardrobe needs and his photos are all done by JHamilton Photography. “ The only
way this can work is if I invest in it and that’s what I intend to do- wholeheartedly. I now look
forward to the wholehearted support of the public at large,”he said.

Trinbago's Daddy Chinee Strikes Hard With Techno Soca

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. October 5, 2011 - When was the last time you heard a soca artiste say his/her aim is to entice people all year round, no matter race or culture? It’s a big statement that’s receiving the backing of a group of producers out of the United States and before long, the artiste on the other end of those words will reveal himself via his music, to the people of T&T and the world.

Ricardo Melville is best known by his sobriquet, Daddy Chinee. He’s a gifted cross-over artiste who was born in Speyside, Tobago but now resides in South Trinidad. He’s been on the grind for sometime, having worked alongside the likes of Crazy, Scrunter, Chris Garcia, Impulse and Rikki Jai, just to name a few. After a 10- year hiatus from the soca biz, Daddy Chinee’s back and is promising music lovers that his unique fusion will leave them intrigued and excited. He’s got the experience having performed with a number of soca bands before. “ I performed in bands like Sound Revolution, Roy Cape and the All Stars, Dil-E-Nadan, Jah Vibes and Kylan. Currently, I have my own band- The Daddy Chinee band which was formerly known as Hipnotic,” he reveals.

A very motivated entertainer and vocalist, the man who started off chanting near his home with friends, has dabbled in not just the soca genre but, he’s also done chutney, Rhythm and Blues, Dancehall, Reggae and Traditional Parang music. With the experience and talent to take things further now, Daddy Chinee says he’s gearing up for a re-emergence in Carnival 2012. “I’ve already released two Soca tracks- “Drop To The Ground,” and “Ah Coming,” he reveals, highlighting that the tracks were produced by Ato “Hisbigness” Williams of Triple B Studios. Added to that, the vibrant singer is about to send a single he’s calling “Trinidad Party” to local Dj’s and radio stations. This particular song has tremendous appeal as it fuses Techno with Soca to create a really rhythmic sound. Members of his team are guaranteeing that this particular single will sit perfectly with all music lovers- even those who may be a little on the conservative side. In the meantime, Melville is dedicatedly working toward the completion of his album, which he’s calling The Journey Continues. The album will also feature fellow artistes Impulse, Miz Estrada and Silver.

On the issue of what seems to be a continued mission to fuse Soca with other genres like dancehall, R&B, Pop and certainly Techno, Daddy Chinee says he’s all for it, as long as the people do not forget the heart and soul of Soca music.

With an undying love and appreciation for his culture, and music in general, a mission that began some 20 years ago has been revitalized. His sights are set on mastering the art form that is Soca and captivating audiences like no other ahead of the spirited season.

In 2011, as the island prepares for another Carnival celebration, Daddy Chinee is promising that he will shake things up with some of the most enjoyable music the world has ever heard.

Ongoing State of Emergency in T&T Forces Postponement of Men of Soul Concert

Freddie Jackson was carded to bring love
to T&T on September 24
alongside Jeffery Osborne and Peabo Bryson
Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. August 30, 2011------------- Despite efforts by local event organisers, ASCL Promotions to tranquilize the unnerving surge in crime related activity by pushing for an epic love concert on Republic Day, the Men of Soul concert has unfortunately been postponed with a date to be announced. The revelation was made on Monday as the outfit, together with financial stakeholders faced the reality that the current state of emergency being experienced on the island, would not lend positively to a show of such magnitude.

With tremendous planning for the event having already been done, organisers say it’s just a
matter of settling on a revised date at this point. A spokesperson for ASCL Promotions
summed up the disadvantage of going ahead with the show, saying that at this time, the minds
of Trinbagonians remained unsettled and the mood was quite uneasy, so with that in mind
they have opted to postpone the staging of three of the world’s biggest male vocalists of the 70’s and 80’s.

Jeffery Osborne, Freddie Jackson and Peabo Bryson were carded to appear at the spacious Queen’s Park Savannah in Port-of-Spain on September 24th. The trio, who over the years have amassed an incredible catalogue of soulful ballads and collaborations with noted icons in the music industry, remain excited for their imminent trip to T&T. They are said to be understanding of the current climate as it relates to the state of emergency, and have assured their support to the local promotional outfit as re-planning for the new date gets underway.

Persons who have purchased tickets for the show, are guaranteed a full refund once tickets are
returned to the original point of sale.

Organizers apologize for any and all inconvenience caused but they say the decision was
deemed necessary in light of the current atmosphere on the island.

A New E-Awakening called Fire Storm Movement

Two brothers in music. Two professionals who’'ve proven themselves in the field of entertainment, so much so that they’'re now conquering new ground one day at a time. Under the banner, "The Firestorm Movement," Leslie Moore, better known as Ezel and his long time friend and DJ partner, Rodney Gordon - aka John Boy, are venturing into a brand new sphere, one that they believe will appeal to a wide cross section of the population.

At 31 years of age, Ezel - the voice of the Firestorm Movement, is ready to make his mark in entertainment in T&T. He says the ultimate goal of the company - Leslie and Rodney’s Firestorm Entertainment is to provide quality entertainment to the masses in the most professional manner. Firestorm is already known for its strength in the game. The pair of Ezel and John Boy has delivered time and time again- the essence of vibe, energy and enjoyment party lovers yearn for. Their level of understanding of the industry added to a natural and untamed appreciation for their respective crafts- has fueled their drive to offer more to the entertainment arena.
On December 5th, their second boat cruise for the year, sets sail at 4am with a 500 strong crew of eager party lovers on board. The cruise, aptly dubbed 500- has already been rated as one of the strongest events in the month of December. Its breakfast/sunrise concept is just one of the many ideas that seeks to provide patrons within the 26-40 year old demographic with a level of recreational enjoyment that surpasses all other.

Firestorm Movement’s first boat ride, held on October 10th in conjunction with Guess Who Promotions saw an incredibly high emergence of music lovers assemble dockside at Pier II, Chaguaramas with many being left behind as a result of space constraints and tickets having been sold out. Much like the first time around, the 500 cruise, which will also see the launch of Jungle Fever’s J’ouvert band for carnival 2011, promises to be a sold out affair.

As Managing Director of Leslie and Rodney's Firestorm Entertainment, Ezel, a voice at one of the island's hottest urban frequencies, RED 96.7FM, guarantees that patrons attending any event hosted and promoted by Firestrorm Entertainment will reap the benefits of a well organised, conceptualised and structured event- from beginning to end. "Our focus is not just Trinidad and Tobago," said Ezel, "we're forming an entertainment movement and people will get the best that we have to offer and the best from the people who work beneath our banner."

With consistency and hard work comes success and with this mantra, the Firestorm Movement leaps forward, powerfully thrusting their collaborative energies into satisfying the needs of entertainment lovers across T&T and essentially, the world.

SHURWAYNE WINCHESTER RELEASES POST ELECTION BLESSINGS.....PARADISIN!

He’s been extremely quiet following the hectic Carnival 2010 season in Trinidad and Tobago. Despite him being on the down low in T&T however, Shurwayne Winchester, the island’s crowned Groovy Soca Monarch champion, has been hard at work.

Making the journey from one island to another, Winchester and Y.O.U, have in the past three months ensured that the music they stole the season with in February was embraced by Caribbean people near and far, as the months tarried forward.

Now, just as the election fever in T&T has ended and even as many remain concerned about what lies in wait, the Tobago-born soca star is unleashing another perfect anthem in honour of his island and the people within.

"Paradisin," a track written by Winchester, is symbolic of what remains constant in Trinidad and Tobago. The people and the land and what the elements of each mean for the island’s continued strength within the Caribbean and even on a global scale, is well documented and added to chords and notes that reflect Shurwayne’s true capabilities, the world will sing praises to this genuine effort.

According to Shurwayne, the song, which was written some three years ago, depicts the beauty of T&T’s people and the island in itself, highlighting the traits of the men and women who make the island what it is. It also reminds the island’s people of what they have been blessed with- a culture, food, land and human nature that’s adored by millions around the world. With big plans in the pipeline for the next few months, even amid rehearsals, shows and new recordings, Shuwayne’s once again guaranteeing music lovers that the best is yet to come but even before the best is unleashed, Paradisin and the others that will follow are mere reminders of the very high standard he subscribes to.

THE BOOM CHAMPIONS PREPARE TO CELEBRATE 5 YEARS

Local media entity, Radio Vision Limited, some five years ago welcomed a new addition to the family. Brainchild and entertainment personality, O'brian Haynes established and nurtured what was initially, Rhythm City 94.1FM  and eventually distinguished the brand by calling it simply, The BoomChampions 94.1FM.

Strong, marketable and competitive in programming, the urban frequency which is based at 88-90 Abercromby Street, in Port-of-Spain has proven, in its five year life span, that with hard work, set goals and great ambition, anything can happen. In this short time, the station, which is seen as one of the more tech savvy, youth oriented frequencies, has managed to capture a large percentage of the urban market in Trinidad and Tobago, with radio programming that is entertaining, informative and healthy.

Great music, coupled with presenters and dj's who add spunk, style and charisma to each hour, in the past five years has seen the BOOM become a force to be reckoned among urban frequencies on the twin island republic.

This June, the BoomChampions celebrates 5 years of bliss. In the coming days, there will be many revelations about an event that most of T&T's party lovers will rush to attend. There's so much in the making they say, and with only five years behind their backs, and already with so much accomplished, the question is- how much more can there possibly be?
Rest assured though that with CEO O'brian Haynes at the helm, that question's already answered!

Therapy Launches Car Show....

It’s time to ‘love up we culture.’

Youths in T&T and across the Caribbean are chanting to the beat of their respective nationalities more these days and this is due in part to the great music being unleashed to the masses from all islands. Not only has Jamaica penetrated the minds of Caribbean people but so has St. Vincent, Barbados and now, with the emergence of some very talented youths, Trinidad and Tobago is proving a force, too.

From the belly of the island’s central criminal point, Morvant Laventille- comes a young man who’s bent on eliminating negativity from his language, his way of life and that of his peers. Fresh and ready to take on anything, Therapy, real name- Hayden Peters, is this week unveiling another pivotal track that’ll soon prove essential to his overall elevation.

From the heat of the 2010 Carnival season in Trinidad and Tobago where he released, “Stand Up,” an outcry for the youths to take their lives in a different direction, he’s now relaxing a bit, in a bid to teach the youths and the older heads too, just how much positively engaging fun can be experienced in life.

“ Car Show,” his latest contribution to T&T’s local crossover genre is not only catchy, but the track, which was produced by Klase Gonzales of First Klase Production Studio in T&T, is easy on the ear, relatable and as mentioned above, creates an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment. Already, Therapy has aligned himself with a local car-show promoter to ensure his song penetrates the masses at the namesake event.

With the help of his management team and local publicity firm, ET-CET-ERA The Company, the artiste is bent on taking his music beyond radio stations, but also into regional venues and certainly the advertising market. Coupled with his strong intent and the support of the promotional entity who will on Saturday, May 1st and Saturday May 8th, host Cars Reloaded in St. Helena, Trinidad and Extreme Machines in Malabar, respectively, the journey to great musical accomplishment is certainly underway.

Thankful for the support of the DJ’s and mic men who’ve held fast to the promotion of T&T’s music, Therapy says, “ music is in me, in my soul… I can provide it, I just need the masses to hear it and the sky’s going to be the limit!”

T&T's Millionaire Family Re-Emerges With The ZIP Project

By the end of this week, everyone will be humming, whistling and even skipping to a new beat.
T&T’s Carnival 2010 experience brought to the fore, the entourage of Millionaires who rolled onto the scene chanting to the beat of HolyHouse Productions’ 747 rhythm. Led by the young but well known, John-Michael Alibocus of Millionaire Family Entertainment and Holy House Productions, Mr. Spine- Orlando Octave, Kerry John, Musique and Nessa penetrated the airwaves with their collective offering for the season. On the heels of their dynamic debut as the Millionaire Family, the team of young, passionate superstars are at it again, this time though, with a couple of additional vocalists!
HolyHouse Productions at their side, the six soulful vocalists joined by new Millionaire Family member, Ras Pilot is set to release his track on Mr. Spine’s latest offering to the industry, The ZIP rhythm. Additionally, soloist, Terry Lyons lends her vocal thrust to the rhythm, in a track that Spine assures, the masses will truly enjoy.
Calling this one a crossover sound between reggae and R&B, Spine says the ZIP rhythm and the lyrics that accompany, will engage the young audience like nothing else has in recent times, as it tells a story, and hops from one artiste to another.
“It’s like the R Kelly/ Mr. Biggs scenario,” explained Spine, adding that a video for the story is currently in the making. Two of the tracks on the rhythm are Octave’s, “Hustle” and Makamillion’s, “Daddy Please,” with the other tracks all said to be exactly what’s yearned for by today’s music lovers.
Mr. Spine, the prominent young producer of Holy House productions says Operation “Zip” was designed by his outfit to symbolise the closure of one thing and the beginning of another.
He says, “ It’s basically about moving from one chapter to the next while stepping completely out of the box and leaving what is known as the norm, behind. I think the ZIP project will be refreshing to listeners and viewers of the video that follows, as it’ll showcase the versatility of the artistes. It’ll also show the world the enhanced vision of our local musicians.
The team is hard at work and with HolyHouse Productions throwing out the rhythms, there’s no doubt that the Millionaire Family is heading to the top as one synchronised body of talented vocal enforcers.

The Pace Is On- Shurwayne & Y.O.U. Are Ready!

On a high from a truly euphoric Carnival 2010 season in T&T, Shurwayne Winchester and YOU are now gearing up for the Tobago Jazz Experience later this month.

Like previous years, this event,  which is staged in the Pigeon Point area of the sister isle, demands  that Shurwayne and his team of well endowed musicians, captivate the masses, who travel from across the world,  to see, feel and experience jazz, elements of soca and the vibe of one of the Caribbean’s most exotic destintions.

Having held their own this past Carnival season, Shurwayne and the unit of musicians who make up YOU, were, according to orgnisers, a necessary inclusion to the cast which includes, the soulful Chaka Khan and the Queen of Neo-Soul, Erykah Badu. “ I always look forward to being a part of shows like these,” said Shurwayne. He says he knows the power of these singers, the appeal they have and with his band, he plans on providing that added desire to the lineup.

Shurwayne and YOU will perform at The Pigeon Point Heritge Park on Friday April 23rd, sharing the stage with Lord Nelson, 3 Canal, Mavis John, Dil-E-Nadan, Ziggy Rankin, Fire Empress and Erykah Badu. With a number of selections currently being rehearsed for the show, Shurwayne and YOU are hard at work.

Last weekend the band performed in Jamaica, at the end of Jamaica's carnival celebrations. Following the Jazz Experience which runs from April 22- 25, the team pushes on to events in the Cayman Islands, North America and other regional and International carnival destinations.

SHURWAYNE GUARANTEES- NO TWO SHOWS WILL BE THE SAME!!!!

He says his performances will only get better because he takes the good critique with the bad. Fire Fete was the medium for his unit’s first major showcase after just one year together and already, the buzz has begun- ‘ Shurwayne Winchester & YOU is the band to resurrect the sweetness of the season.’
A tight performance filled with energy, momentum, adrenaline and moments of theatrical intrigue took revelers on a high that many have complained, has been lost in recent carnival experiences. His unit- the musicians whose one year journey has already proven positive, are relishing the joy of being able to collaboratively inject good sounding music, into the season. Their cohesion, not just as musicians, but also as friends, showed on stage at Fire Fete, and coupled with their leader’s appreciation for the fulfillment of a dream, Shurwayne Winchester & YOU will prove to be a spectacle of energy, vibe and action, within carnival 2010. Last Saturday night at St. John’s Hall, two tracks caused the most positive commotion- Lonely Road and Behind the Truck, proving that what’s heard on the airwaves and what’s essentially experienced at carnival fetes, could never be the same. Flag crews felt the music, felt the energy and with no hesitation, they unleashed the joy felt from the music generated by the band.
Their 2010 hits, Murdah, Jammers, Lonely Road, Behind De Truck, Gyal Wine Up – along with those countless others that the world has lapped up from season to season, has given this soca sensation enough to ride the wave of carnival, into the sunset. Now, he looks to the rest of the season, knowing and understanding that with each show, revellers will expect more… for this reason he guarantees, “ No two shows will ever be the same!”

Now, Shurwayne Winchester and YOU gear up for WASA Fete, Army Fete, Brass- The Rebirth and the many other fetes that truly make T&T’s carnival, The Greatest Show On Earth. To know what’s going on in their world, log on to www.shurwaynewinchester.com.
