Shurwayne's Coming With One For the Savannah- Gear Up!

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. December 30, 2010 - Infectious. That’s the word being used to describe a monster carnival stinger scheduled for release on New Years Day.

Wondering who’s bringing this smash hit soca single?

Well, truth be told, there’s only one man who’s bag of goodies seems to be multiplying... that artiste is none other than Shurwayne Winchester!

Already riding a wave of unparalleled seasonal success, Shurwayne will, this coming Saturday, release a power track, entitled, “Over and Over.”

“This song brings the masqueraders back the original home of carnival- the savannah,” explained the two time road march winner.

“Over and Over,” was produced at SW Limited Studios by keyboardist/producer Geiron Mang, but Kernell Roberts is certainly responsible for the final sound of the track. “This is my first power production for the season,” said Geiron. “I’m over excited!”

Shurwayne & Y.O.U. ,who enjoyed a successful Christmas season, having played at dinners across the island, are in high anticipation for a bumper Carnival 2K11 ride. The iron man’s voice is ready and so is the vibe and energy of the band. Many are saying that this will be a great year for SW Limited as the team has already unleashed a number of hit singles that are enjoying strong airplay across the airwaves.

“This song in particular is the jump out song,” said Shurwayne. “It will bring back the vibe of the savannah to the minds of masqueraders and people in general- it’s that kind of heart pumping, adrenalin rushing track. If you missed the savannah stage and ‘yuh’ ready for the savannah stage, this is the vehicle to take you there.”

With much more music scheduled for release in the coming days and weeks, Shurwayne’s on a natural high. He’s ready to take the masses on a Carnival journey they’ll forever remember with the music he will deliver!

Look Out Soca World- Here Comes the Fruit of Life- Jahmoun!!!

The Fruit of Life- Jahmoun's hitting the Soca world with something specially designed for the ladies of the Caribbean island, in C2K11. Shocker or not, the radio mic man’s ready to bring his hype to the soca game and etch his own mark in the industry.

With the success of his hip-hop release earlier this year alongside Tim Starr of Spot Rushaz, Jahmoun Mendoza realized the time had come for him to do just what had been on his mind, for years. "I always wanted to do this, but I had to wait for the right time. I didn't want people to say "there goes another radio dj jumping into the thing just like that because he knows he will get airplay." Jahmoun discovered his writing ability following the collaboration with Tim Starr. "After the release of 'Turn It Up', this past August, I began humming this melody in my head and decided to put pen to paper. The lyrics just came and when I was done, I took it to MadMan Johann who called up Zan to help me with it a bit, and the rest is history," he said.

The track entitled 'Flashing Lights', is collaboratively written by Zan Feveck and Jahmoun however, the Boomchampions 94.1FM personality gives the best of himself, singing for the ladies of T&T, the Caribbean and the world. Produced by Johann of MadMan Productions, Jahmoun says the song is just a taste of what he knows he can bring for the season and beyond. "It's nice when you discover you have talents that were sleeping all the time. I have to use what I've got and I have to share it with the world," he said.

'Flashing Lights' will be released on Wednesday, December 8 in Trinidad and Tobago.

Denise ' Saucy Wow' Belfon Gives More Ahead of C2K11.

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad - Soca is more than a hustle for one of T&T’s leading entertainment professionals. For Denise Belfon, known by her sobriquet, Saucy Wow- music is a craft that deserves continued attention, that the best end result can be achieved.

For the past two years, she’s laid somewhat low, having done only collaborations with artistes she respects in the industry. In 2011 however, Denise Belfon re-emerges hotter, lyrically stronger and fresher than ever before. Her matured seduction promises to entice, and her music promises to lure patrons, and with an aim to shake things up musically, she plunges forward, first with “ Dance And Dingolay.”

fellow entertainers, Blaax, Swappi and even Swappi’s brother, the group 645 among others, Saucy on her first release ahead of Carnival 2011, rides the Swahili riddim, produced by Andrew Phillip and Shac De Burg and mastered by ‘Mice’ at Champion Sounds Studio. The track, she says, is powerful, with an African vibe that injects a call to stand up, revel in the mas, the music, the thrill that is T&T’s carnival. Written by Belfon herself and Jason Bishop- aka Shaft, Denise says “Dance and Dingolay” took her back to her roots of Best Village where her home of Point Cumana became a fond memory.

“ It’s really a different vibe and I think this is a great first release heading in C2K11, considering what’s still to come,” she said.

During her two -year semi-hiatus, Denise Belfon says she felt her fans’ yearning and decided that the time had come, this year, to execute stronger than she had before. “I’m doing these projects for my fans to feel happy again- Carnival misses me,” she said.

Beyond this first release, Belfon- on an even more serious note, indicated that she thinks Carnival needs more activity for the children of T&T. “ I’m launching Poise on January
15th,” she hinted, explaining that the children’s mas band was created by her 9-year-old daughter Cassandra. The launch of Poise takes place on the Greens at the Queen’s Park Oval and will see the emergence of many bright, new, young faces. “ My aim is to offer children their own place in carnival, complete with their own music, mas, steelpan, everything.”

Already she guides her daughter Cassandra who she says will enter both the Junior Calypso Monarch and the Junior Soca Monarch competitions in C2K11. Additionally, a 13- year-old boy- Zebbi Williams and his two brothers have been under the protective guidance of the artiste and mother of four. Zebbi too, will enter both Junior Monarch competitions.

On her involvement musically, with the band Poise, Denise says her track, “More Love,” will consciously strike the right chord with the kids, and will be used as the band’s theme song.
For Denise Belfon, being an entertainer means more than bright lights and stage performances. It also means being able to lend support to those in need and help foster awareness via that celebrity. “I work with the Princess Elizabeth Centre in Woodbrook and I’m doing a benefit dinner and dance on December 12th at the Oval Ballroom for them, with all proceeds going toward the centre’s development. The venue was originally the Hyatt, but we were forced to change the venue. Entertainment will be provided by Roy Cape and Blaxx, Kenny J, H2OPhlo, Baron, Alison Hinds and Trini Barbie and there will also be a Fashion Show, executed by San Fernando based Du Rante Designs. I would like people to come out and support for the benefit of the children in need,” said the singer.

Amid these projects and countless others, Denise Belfon promises to give only her best. In an industry that is often highly critical, she assures that no matter what, her music and the things she becomes involved in, will always be a reflection of hard work and ambitious goals.

Brand New Video + Super Swagg Makes for A Hott 2K11

In 2K10, the template was set.

An innate star quality has led Super Jigga TC on a journey of unimaginable proportions. From the islands of the Caribbean to the world at large, the one time radio personality turned Soca artiste has plastered his swag everywhere eyes can see and ears can hear.

Musically, his vibe propels him and with clear instinct, he knows when to strike. For this reason the true King of Swag is doubling up on the Template, solidifying his name and claiming his space in 2K11.

Already a monster carnival bubbler has taken its own course, directed only by radio personalities who know good music when they hear it. Together with his Synergy TV counterpart and long-time friend, Shal Marshal, Super Jigga TC is now ready to unleash a world premier…. video.

The medley that rides the Flagship riddim, which was produced by New York based GBM Productions, explosively injects fuel to the fire of the season with “Speakerbox” and Marshal’s, “ Whole Day,” at the core of the excitement. The tracks have both catapulted to every DJ’s must play list in T&T and as such, a video was only necessary.

Shot at Mobs II in Chaguaramas, Trinidad- over a five- day period by production team, Another Terrible Production, the HD quality guarantees visual perfection. “ The editing was done by Cowen Thorpe- he’s young and super-talented,” said Super Jigga TC.  The artiste also revealed that this season he’ll be working alongside a number of young people he attests to being innovative and talented- among them, 18 –year-old producer, Kelz.

In the interim however, a brand new video to round off the promotion of the Flagship medley hits Synergy TV on Tuesday, November 9 at 8:45pm. Complete with motorcycles, ladies and the King of Swag’s untamed vibe, in a setting that somewhat epitomizes the backdrop of T&T’s Carnival, Super Jigga TC and Shal Marshal are ready to take the season by storm. On the heels of the release, the video will be uploaded automatically to all main video sites for those who miss the premier. Additionally, in the pipeline are remixes to both songs and new videos that will accompany. “ We’re trying to up the game- make the thing sweet in T&T now,” said Super Jigga TC.
