Batson's Found Her Soca Ladies- Band's Name To Be Revealed Soon!

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. July 25, 2011------------- Nadia Batson’s journey to creating a new
sound in the Caribbean has gained tremendous momentum. On July 17, auditions held at the
Centre Of Excellence in Trinidad, proved successful with a number of beautiful and talented
young women presenting themselves to the team of musical experts who would have the final
say as to who would fill the spots of keyboardist, vocalists, drummer, bassist, guitarist and
dancers.

In a statement following the one- day audition, Batson excitedly said, “ There were some really
talented women today. It’ll be a hard decision but we’re up for it.”
Some eight to 10 girls will be chosen to be a part of the “My Posse” singer/ songwriter’s new
all-female soca band. She anticipates it’s full emergence by late November and has assured that
she will not deliver anything less than the best to the public at large. For now though, Batson continues to fulfill her professional obligations with Kes The Band, having flown to Toronto on Thursday for gigs there.

Upon her return, Batson will begin rehearsals with the new ladies of soca and she’ll also be
prepared to reveal the name of the all-female band. Thus far, her announcement has created a
surge of excitement within the carnival fraternity as fans, promoters and prospective sponsors
eagerly await the grand showcase of what Batson herself is referring to as the hottest thing
since carnival bikinis and beads.

PRESS RELEASE: " NADIA BATSON SUFFERS UNFORTUNATE MISCARRIAGE."

This release serves to inform the media, and by extension, the general public that female soca sweetheart, Nadia Batson, who has continued to show her worth both on stage, and off, will not be performing at carnival events for the remainder of the 2010 Carnival season.

Batson’s 2010 repertoire which includes, “Heaven,” a super collaboration performed with fellow lead vocalist, Kees Deffeinthalla of Kes The Band, “ Dangerous” and Keep Wining” among others, will certainly be missed as revelers, promoters and soca music lovers, draw the curtains on the season of abandon. Batson’s decision was not an easy one, however her health being the main focus, leads to this unexpected and certainly, unplanned- decision.

Fans and supporters of the artiste, yearning to understand the severity of Batson’s condition at this time, can rest assured that she is now preparing to treat herself to some much needed rest, following an untimely miscarriage. Having conceived her first child sometime in the last few weeks, Batson’s hectic schedule led to the unfortunate circumstance and consequently her decision to exempt herself from the remainder of the seasonal activity.

In making this decision, Batson- concerned about her supporters and those who look forward to hearing her music, wished to thank everyone whose been instrumental in her 2010 carnival campaign and assures that she will be doing what is necessary to ensure that she’s back on stage for Carnivals across the Caribbean and Internationally.

Those wishing to keep abreast of Nadia’s activity, can certainly do so by following her on social networking site, Twitter.

The Carnival is over...2010 NEXT!!!

Well, I honestly had a ball!!!

Carnival 2009 was amazing here in Trinidad and Tobago and as always, in promotion of the island, I have to say that every human being that is a member of this planet earth should experience the two day street parade, in full costume, at least once in their lifetime.

Despite the world's economic downturn, the turnout for the festival was incredible and added to this, the crime was almost non existent as the police here in Trinidad, did an amazing job at ensuring that the festivities went ahead unhindered by any negative eventualities.

Here's to NEXT YEAR'S CARNIVAL IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO... Come to our island, enjoy the mas, safely make your way through the streets and terrains, have a doubles, a bake and shark at Maracas bay and by all means, wine LOW!!!
