THE BOOM CHAMPIONS PREPARE TO CELEBRATE 5 YEARS
Local media entity, Radio Vision Limited, some five years ago welcomed a new addition to the family. Brainchild and entertainment personality, O'brian Haynes established and nurtured what was initially, Rhythm City 94.1FM and eventually distinguished the brand by calling it simply, The BoomChampions 94.1FM.
Strong, marketable and competitive in programming, the urban frequency which is based at 88-90 Abercromby Street, in Port-of-Spain has proven, in its five year life span, that with hard work, set goals and great ambition, anything can happen. In this short time, the station, which is seen as one of the more tech savvy, youth oriented frequencies, has managed to capture a large percentage of the urban market in Trinidad and Tobago, with radio programming that is entertaining, informative and healthy.
Great music, coupled with presenters and dj's who add spunk, style and charisma to each hour, in the past five years has seen the BOOM become a force to be reckoned among urban frequencies on the twin island republic.
This June, the BoomChampions celebrates 5 years of bliss. In the coming days, there will be many revelations about an event that most of T&T's party lovers will rush to attend. There's so much in the making they say, and with only five years behind their backs, and already with so much accomplished, the question is- how much more can there possibly be?
Rest assured though that with CEO O'brian Haynes at the helm, that question's already answered!

On the heels of their dynamic debut as the Millionaire Family, the team of young, passionate superstars are at it again, this time though, with a couple of additional vocalists!HolyHouse Productions at their side, the six soulful vocalists joined by new Millionaire Family member, Ras Pilot is set to release his track on Mr. Spine’s latest offering to the industry, The ZIP rhythm. Two of the tracks on the rhythm are Octave’s, “Hustle” and Makamillion’s, “Daddy Please,” with the other tracks all said to be exactly what’s yearned for by today’s music lovers. Mr. Spine, the prominent young producer of Holy House productions says Operation “Zip” was designed by his outfit to symbolise the closure of one thing and the beginning of another.
He says, “ It’s basically about moving from one chapter to the next while stepping completely out of the box and leaving what is known as the norm, behind. I think the ZIP project will be refreshing to listeners and viewers of the video that follows, as it’ll showcase the versatility of the artistes. SHURWAYNE GUARANTEES- NO TWO SHOWS WILL BE THE SAME!!!!
He says his performances will only get better because he takes the good critique with the bad. Fire Fete was the medium for his unit’s first major showcase after just one year together and already, the buzz has begun- ‘ Shurwayne Winchester & YOU is the band to resurrect the sweetness of the season.’
A tight performance filled with energy, momentum, adrenaline and moments of theatrical intrigue took revelers on a high that many have complained, has been lost in recent carnival experiences. His unit- the musicians whose one year journey has already proven positive, are relishing the joy of being able to collaboratively inject good sounding music, into the season. Their cohesion, not just as musicians, but also as friends, showed on stage at Fire Fete, and coupled with their leader’s appreciation for the fulfillment of a dream, Shurwayne Winchester & YOU will prove to be a spectacle of energy, vibe and action, within carnival 2010. Last Saturday night at St. John’s Hall, two tracks caused the most positive commotion- Lonely Road and Behind the Truck, proving that what’s heard on the airwaves and what’s essentially experienced at carnival fetes, could never be the same. Flag crews felt the music, felt the energy and with no hesitation, they unleashed the joy felt from the music generated by the band.

Now, he looks to the rest of the season, knowing and understanding that with each show, revellers will expect more… for this reason he guarantees, “ No two shows will ever be the same!”
Now, Shurwayne Winchester and YOU gear up for WASA Fete, Army Fete, Brass- The Rebirth and the many other fetes that truly make T&T’s carnival, The Greatest Show On Earth. To know what’s going on in their world, log on to www.shurwaynewinchester.com.

Luni Spark & Electrify Hit T&T By Storm
The regional integration that’s made possible through the Greatest Show on Earth, has begun.
Lunni Spark & Electrify, the sensational Grenadian duo who in 2007 and 2008 took home Grenada’s Soca Monarch title, spent both Thursday and Friday in Trinidad and Tobago, releasing new music and starting the buzz for 2010.
The pair has teamed up with Mr. Spine’s HolyHouse Production and The Millionaire Family who’ve already produced a number of hits ahead of the season. Together, they've unleashed four tracks for the masses. “ Ah Wining,” "Wine It,” “Eruption,” and “ Doh Call It,” debuted in T&T, in a pre-carnival buzz that’s already taking over the Christmas season. The Grenadian boys’ stint in Trinidad saw them stop by most media houses, including Synergy TV and many of the popular radio stations.
Self proclaimed,‘ Energy Kings of Soca,’ Luni Sparks & Electrify have started their 2010 soca campaign strong, riding high on the wave of success at the 2009 International Soca Awards. Although the event in itself was cancelled, Caribbean received their merit for the hard work put in, in 2009. In a release, the awards committee presented the pair with awards in the categories of, Best Soca Collaboration Up-Tempo and Best Soca Duo.
Their stay in T&T, though brief – was meant to keep the momentum high heading into the New Year. In the weeks ahead, there’s no doubt that the youthfully vibrant pair will be back to stomp their names all over Carnival island.
ABOUT LUNI SPARK & ELECTRIFY:
Grenadian brothers Kelson and Kellon Ogist have been a part of the soca fraternity for the past 6 years- first as individual solo acts, before combining their talents in 2005. In 2007, they caught the attention of the Caribbean with a track called, “ High.”
Known for other soca singles like, “Come Back,” “Home Sweet” and “Miss The Mas,” the brothers are keeping atop their game and have set their sights on attaining the most out of the Caribbean's music industry.

Shurwayne Gives Them Murdah!

It’s started…
The world has been awaiting a musical awakening and this coming Carnival 2010, the world will be fulfilled, satisfied, and everyone will crave more.
In the prelude, the masses are being equipped with a teaser, in the form of ‘Murdah,’ a Shurwayne Winchester track that has already taken Barbados by storm. In this, the release of the upbeat, sexually enticing, winer friendly rhythm, Winchester offers the vocals while Bajan Producer, Dwain ‘Dwaingerous’ Antrobus offers the beats that enforce and allows for a great final product.
The track has been produced with Barbados’ crop over festival in mind, as Winchester and the band Y.O.U. remain on course to becoming the next big Caribbean and by extension, world phenomenon, in 2010. The SW and Y.O.U. link fits just right and many who’ve seen their act, just can’t seem to get enough of the band whose humble demeanor does no justice to the greatness that’s executed time and time again. Pushing forward, the three- time Road March king of Trinidad and Tobago refuses to slow down as he gives you ‘Murdah’- a taste of what’s to come, in only a tiny bite.
