Shurwayne Winchester Shuts Down Millennium Highway- Set To Release 5th C2K12 Single

Soca artiste, Shurwayne Winchester

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. December 2, 2011--------Dyamic. Versatile. Energetic.
Those were the words that best described Shurwayne Winchester’s most recent performances.
On the heels of cable network, Flow’s Christmas party on Saturday, November 26th, Shurwayne
rolled solo at Woodford Café where he dished out much more than many would’ve expected. Excited for Christmas and the subsequent carnival season ahead, Shurwayne says he’s pulling out the stops and going hard into both seasons as he has nothing to lose.

“I’m an entertainer,” said the notably relaxed soca superstar last week Saturday night. He had
been explaining why his repertoire consists of such varying musical items, to an audience that simply wanted more. The event, which took place at the Hyatt Hotel was merely one of a number of Christmas functions Shurwayne and his band of three years, Y.O.U. have been contracted to perform at. He’s a favourite when it comes to events of this nature and that undoubtedly stems from his ability to vocally enforce any genre of music- from hip-hop to dancehall, reggae and of course calypso and soca. His first ever soca parang single, “When
Christmas Come Around” was a hit at both Flow’s Christmas Party and Woodford Café last week, however it was at Hyatt where he utilized the comical appeal of television personality, Philo, that fans of the artiste truly got a true taste of what he can bring, when he truly decides to go hard.

On both nights, audience members shouted flatteries, screamed with joy and called for more,
and that in itself was all that was needed for more to be delivered by the former double Road
March champ. From Work It to Wine On It, Jiggle It Reloaded and Wining Addict- his music
ahead of Carnival 2012 continues to be enjoyed by fans and soca lovers. Shurwayne says he
plans on releasing a power single next but hasn’t dished on whether that would be before or
after the Christmas season. Most recently, he was in St. Lucia shooting the video for Work It where
he reportedly shut down the entire Millennium Highway for three hours to shoot the scenes.
It’s just what happens when he’s bent on getting things right. In 2012, Shurwayne is promising
plenty vibes, plenty fun and a lot of great music for revelers to enjoy.

Telecruz Set To Make 'Em Sweat in C2K12!

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. November 17, 2011------------- Tobago won’t be left behind, especially when they’ve got great things to offer the world. That’s the ideals of one of Tobago’s rising superstars who goes by the name, Telecruz. He’s been around, but in case you missed him, it must be told that Telecruz’s infectious melody and mesmerizing tone, has made it all the way to Sweden and back.

These days the Crown Point native is working hard to get his foot in the door as Carnival 2012 rears its head. He only recently released a track called, “Sweat” on the Benchmark Riddim, which was produced by 4Sons entertainment out of Sweden and subsequently mixed and mastered by Madmen Productions in Trinidad. His Swedish alliance is a unique one. He’s been working with the foreign music makers for some time- having capitalised on the link, making sure that his music is placed into the European domain. In fact, Teleruz’s first single ever
released, “Caribbean Affair” which was done alongside Swedish pop vocalist, Swedish Maria,
made it into the European market in a pretty decent way. The track was ranked number three
on the Caribbean Countdown in Europe.

Telecruz’s determination to make it in the industry is one that cannot be broken. In fact, his
new single “Sweat” was written alongside the producer to ensure that it was perfect for release.
This method went against the norm of musical creation and Telecruz highlighted that it was
just his way of increasing the possibility of perfection on a single that he truly enjoyed
vocalizing. He even flew to Sweden to record the single and that in itself goes to show how
much he believes in his first 2012 release.

With a collaborative track alongside soca trailblazer, Buffy also carded to be released in just
about one week’s time, Telecruz is sounding the alarm. He’s making it known that he’s coming
hard. Also in the mix of singles for the Carnival season up ahead, is a track done alongside
Umi Marcano called, Sail Away. His link with Umi was made last year but it was felt that the
track would have a more significant impact if released ahead of C2K12.

On a serious note, the entertainer revealed that each level aspired for, and acquired in the soca
industry is appreciated by him since it has never been easy for artistes out of Tobago to make
it. He said it’s often a harder fight and a tougher push, with Tobagonian artistes sometimes
having to move to Trinidad in a bid to promote themselves in the market. Nevertheless, he
said the extra push makes the accomplishment all the more rewarding when attained and with
that in mind, Telecruz peomises to never stop pushing. The Tobago born artiste is vowing to
join in the limelight with his brothers of soca in the season of revelry ahead.

T&T Super Producer Makes His Presence Felt Ahead of C2K12

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. November 18, 2011------------- The producer with the swag of a stunner’s at it again. Holy House Production’s Mr. Spine has been known for creating some of
the most amazing beats out of T&T with the young artistes of the Millionaire Family riding them hard in recent years. Now, ahead of Carnival 2012 in T&T, the man who usually sits behind the scenes and directs the sound is prepared to stand at the fore, ready to deliver some tough ‘stuff’ as he delves into the realm of being an artiste.

A first release entitled For D Carnival is just what it says- a track for the carnival season that will penetrate the souls of true fete lovers. Together with singing sensation, Buffy, Mr. Spine 2.0 as he’s now being called, is making use of his vocal ability, coupling it with his skill behind
the mixing board and computers to deliver nothing short of magic to the people he feels deserves to hear it, feel it and move to it. It’s just a taste of what’s to come as he assures a number of self-produced singles will hit the market as the season unfolds. Another track
alongside IRAWMA award winning artiste, Buffy will hit the airwaves soon after the first release and according to the duo, this one will make a statement. “ It’s called, For De Lovin, and it’s about the lengths that two people would go for each other’s loving,” explained the super producer. The second single admittedly invokes emotions and Spine said the combination makes for some really good musical listening.

Holy House Production has lent its expertise in musical production to many artistes in recent
years. Having secured a distribution deal with Universal Records’ InGrooves, for tracks on the
Flex Riddim earlier this year, Mr. Spine 2.0 has been hard at work. He’s worked with a number
of entertainers from across the Caribbean, among them Shabba Ranks, Beenie Man,
Konshens, Rayvon, Pamputee, Meritol Family, Orlando Octave and the other talented artistes
who make up the Millionaire Family, among others. Now, his new mission to infiltrate vocally
with self-produced singles not only sends a strong warning but also a tremendous message to
other youths looking on. “I feel that we’re all capable of charting the course we want in this
life. Music is my passion but why should I be bound to one aspect of it? I feel I have what it
takes to give more of me and I want other young people to understand that there’s always
something more for them out there. They just have to go after it!” he said.
Mr. Spine 2.0 is ready for C2K12 and he’s bringing a strong catalogue with him. With
determination to make it all a success, Mr. Spine 2.0- youthful and determined in every sense,
is looking forward to an interesting season ahead.

No Pressure Billed to Be Nadia Batson's BIG Groovy Single

Frontline vocalists of SASS Megan Waldrond and Queen SASS, Nadia Batson
Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. November 17, 2011-----------Nadia Batson's not about to miss a beat as the season of revelry in Trinidad and Tobago unfolds. The heightened level of intensity is owed to her strong yearning to give only the best of herself and her band SASS, in C2K12 and beyond.

On the heels of the band's launch last Wednesday, November 9 at Anchorage, Batson on Thursday, November 17 released a single she had been perfecting for weeks. No Pressure was produced by Martian Music and mastered by GBM Productions out of NYC. " This one is for the ladies- We don't want no pressure!", said Batson who wrote the track herself.  Its groove is melodically enticing, soothing on the ear and uncompromising on the waistline's all round agenda. Every woman will love No Pressure, according to Team SASS!

Online, the Buzz has been wild for Nadia Batson. In 2011, she told the media that she was doing everything for the people of Trinidad and Tobago. She'd performed twice at the International Soca Monarch Competition with fellow artistes, Tallpree of Grenada and Patrice Roberts of the HD Family, and even then, a very humble, low-key Batson, told reporters that it wasn't about winning- it was about doing the best that she could.

2012 is proving to however be a different dynamic. In the season ahead, Nadia will prove herself further- being the first bandleader of an all-female soca band out of Trinidad and Tobago. She's on a natural high and her music is proof enough. No Pressure has been released to radio stations across the length and breadth of T&T and overseas. She's hoping that with the help of her loyal supporters, this track- 'her pet track'- will be as huge as recent releases. This is Batson's fourth release for the season. It follows her hits, Whey Yuh Want with Lyrikal, Hard Pong with Raymond Ramnarine and Shiver on the Antilles riddim.

The launch was held at Anchorage in Chaguaramas and Batson got the opportunity to breathe after months of anticipation. Batson says she plans on showcasing that talented women in the Caribbean can rock any stage around the world and starting in C2K12, the lady who has given us countless hits, some personally sung and others merely composed, plans on proving her point.
